About us
Built by people who have seen what a closed door costs.
Race Towards Recovery started with a simple, stubborn belief: nobody in this country should lose their shot at recovery because of money.
Our story
Founded by Chelzzz — a movement born from lived experience.
Race Towards Recovery was founded by Chelzzz, a long-term recovery advocate whose personal journey fuels the organization's mission. Chelzzz is the recipient of Atlanta's Remarkable Woman of the Year award, presented by Olay, The CW Network, and NewsNation, and is the Amazon bestselling author of a book about addiction and codependency.
Her story has inspired countless individuals and sparked a movement that has grown into Race Towards Recovery — a nonprofit dedicated to helping anyone in need find hope, healing, and a path forward.
Through our program, we provide up to 30 days of addiction treatment and 90 days of housing and aftercare support, and our work spans treatment scholarships, placement, mental health and housing referrals, family support, and community events that keep the conversation in the open where it belongs.
Funding Treatment. Restoring Lives. Building Hope.
